Liver nourishment and protection: Liver meridian massage – a detoxification method for working men.
We often say, "Men are the pillars of the family." However, no matter how much pressure they face, professional men should not trade their health for their careers, as this is a very unequal exchange. Because "health is the foundation of everything," only by ensuring our health can we have the qualifications and resources to discuss career development; otherwise, even if we have a bright future, we will not be able to enjoy it.
Mr. Jiang is the business manager of a company. Every day, he has to handle various matters as soon as he arrives at work, fearing that a decrease in his department's business volume would affect his own performance. To achieve this goal, he puts all his energy into his work, thinking single-mindedly about how to increase his department's business volume whether he's commuting to and from get off work or eating out. To boost his department's business volume, Mr. Jiang often personally entertains major clients; it can be said that he spends every evening attending dinner parties. After returning home at night, he still has to organize documents, and sometimes when he's too tired, he relies on coffee to stay awake.
In just one year, Mr. Jiang was promoted to deputy manager of the company due to his outstanding performance. However, Mr. Jiang also paid a heavy price for this, as his health began to deteriorate and he had to take leave and be hospitalized.
In today's workplace, there are many people like Mr. Jiang who sacrifice their health for career success. Therefore, when you are striving in your career, you must realize that health is the foundation of everything. So, how can you ensure a healthy body? Exercise, diet therapy, and health supplements can certainly help you achieve this goal. However, there is another method that is both economical and fundamentally guarantees health: meridian massage.
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) considers the liver to be an indispensable organ for maintaining life, playing a crucial role in detoxification and nutrient storage. In TCM, the liver, like the kidneys, bears the vital responsibility of maintaining bodily functions. The liver, associated with the element of wood, is often referred to as the "general" of the body, responsible for defending against external threats and eliminating toxins accumulated both internally and externally. It is a dedicated detoxification organ. When the liver meridian is functioning normally, the body can operate fundamentally correctly; otherwise, if the liver meridian becomes abnormal, the body will immediately exhibit various adverse reactions, such as poor complexion, dry throat, nausea, genital pain, lower back pain, anxiety, and lack of decisiveness.
However, modern working men often face work pressure and need to work overtime late into the night. This prevents their livers from getting proper rest, depleting their nutrients, affecting their mood, and ultimately impacting their health. So, how can working men get rid of this symptom?
To address this phenomenon, we can start with acupoints on the Liver Meridian and perform meridian acupoint massage. There are many acupoints on the Liver Meridian; we will focus on the following: First, there is Taichong (LR3). This acupoint is located on the dorsum of the foot, in the depression between the first and second metatarsal bones. This acupoint effectively regulates the overall Qi of the upper, middle, and lower Jiao (triple burner), acting as a "qi-clearing" vanguard in dispelling stagnant Qi. Regularly massaging this acupoint can help expel stagnant Qi, turbid Qi, and toxins from the body, thus benefiting health. Second, there is Xingjian (LR2), located on the dorsum of the foot, in the depression at the junction of the red and white skin behind the crease between the thumb and second toe, slightly closer to the edge of the thumb. Regularly massaging this acupoint can effectively treat hangovers, eye diseases, leg cramps, nocturia, liver diseases, and abdominal distension.
Finally, when undergoing meridian massage, working men must also properly nourish and protect their liver by choosing the right time to go to sleep. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the period from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. is the best time to nourish liver blood, so it is essential to get a good night's sleep during this time, and it is crucial to "fall asleep within this period." Conversely, if you did not sleep well the night before, you must find time to rest appropriately the next day, as this will help strengthen the liver.
For a professional man, good health is a prerequisite for work, and a healthy stomach is the foundation of overall health. Therefore, for a professional man to have a bright future and achieve success, he must have a healthy body and a healthy stomach.
However, this is not the case. A survey shows that stomach problems have become a common ailment among modern professional men. Especially in today's fast-paced society, many young professional men don't have the habit of eating breakfast. They usually rush to work, eat a quick lunch, and if they have to work overtime, they just grab a few bites. Over time, this lifestyle will inevitably create many hidden dangers for their stomach health.
